RCMP and the Office of the Fire Commissioner have launched an investigation into a fire that destroyed a pig barn in the RM of Hanover and killed 1,100 pigs.

Fire and RCMP crews responded to the report of a fire, about 10 km southwest of La Broquerie, around 6 p.m. on Aug. 21.

RCMP said the cause of the fire is not yet known and officers and officials continue to investigate.
