Scotch lovers with an extra $25,000 to spare have a chance to buy rare, half-century-old single malt.
A bottle of Glenlivet’s Winchester Collection Vintage 1966 scotch will be for sale at the Grant Park Liquor Mart on Nov. 8.
The bottle is about 750 milliliters, which means it costs almost $1,000 per ounce.
It’s just one of 100 bottles released and the only bottle available in Canada.
The company said the scotch was dutifully cared for by generations of master distillers and left to distill in an exceptional sherry cask. It’s touted with a flavor profile that “defines special and a piece of liquid history that nods to tradition, craft and excellence.”
The company said it’s only the second vintage release from the collection of rare, 50-year-old whiskeys.
