A child pornography investigation in Switzerland has led to the arrest of a man in Winnipeg.

On Thursday, Winnipeg police arrested a suspect after a months-long investigation that began in January when police in Zurich and Aargau, Switzerland opened an investigation into the online distribution of child pornography.

They found someone with a Winnipeg IP address possessed and had made available child pornography to other people.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit investigated, and on March 22, investigators searched a residence on Renfrew Street, seizing several electronic devices.

Police said they found videos and images of child pornography, involving children between 2 and 12 years old.

On Thursday, police charged Andrew Harrison, 36, with numerous offences, including: possessing child pornography; accessing child pornography: importing, distributing, selling or possessing for the purposes of distributing or selling child pornography; and bestiality
