A special meeting is being held in an attempt to prevent delays and cost overruns with the Waverley-Taylor undperass.

Last month, councillors on the infrastructure committee refused to green light the $155 million project until they received more information. Now, a followup meeting is being held Friday.

A source on the committee tells CTV News, councillors have been provided more details and could be on board with the financial arrangement. At issue was a single-source contract worth $12.3 million for engineering and consulting work.

Councillors were told if the project did not get underway by the end of this month, it could delay the underpass and cost taxpayers $7 million extra.
