Winnipeg police say an intoxicated driver smashed his Ford Escort into a cadet cruiser at 70 km/h Friday night.
The cadet vehicle was blocking the scene of a prior hit-and-run on Inkster Boulevard near Andrews Street around 11:45 p.m.
According to police, two cadets were in the cruiser at the time it was hit and both suffered minor injuries.
Police took the 60-year-old driver of the Escort into custody and he is facing impaired driving charges.
