A family from Tilston who experienced a flash flood on June 29, 2014 is still in recovery mode. They're very busy and are feeling overwhelmed by the magnitude of the damage.

Tilston is about 140 km southwest of Brandon, Man.

The farm belongs to Sandy and Everette Jones.

Their house had to be completely gutted and they are waiting to hear from emergency measures officials on what repairs the province will cover.

Meantime, Sandy and Everette are living in trailers next to their home as they in family members work to recover their home and farm.

A representative from Salvation Army in Tilston on July 22 said people in the area are stressed and relieved to see some help.

The washed-out bridge near the Jones’ farm at Tilston is fixed now, but the family said crews should have built in culverts to let water through instead of bunching up at their farm.
