Winnipeg police said they have arrested four people in connection with an assault and robbery that took place inside a bus shelter in the early hours of April 11.

According to police a 19-year-old man had fallen asleep inside the bus shelter at Fort Street and Graham Avenue before he was confronted by a group of people and assaulted.

Police said the victim was then robbed and the suspects ran from the scene.

The victim remains in guarded condition.

Police said a witness helped them identify four male suspects.

A 14-year-old and 16-year-old were arrested later that day and charged with Aggravated Assault.

A 16-year-old male and 19-year-old William Johnson were arrested three days later and charged with Robbery.

Police said all four were remanded into custody.
