Police have charged a man after a woman was sexually assaulted at a residence on Niakwa Road on Wednesday.
Around 2:30 p.m., police responded to a call about a sexual assault that had just occurred. Upon arriving, officers spotted a suspect and arrested him.
The 42-year-old victim told them that a man who was known to her forced his way into her home after she opened the door. She told officers she was struck and then sexually assaulted.
The victim managed to break free and fled the residence, and police were called.
Jeffrey Alexander Hilz, 52, faces charges of sexual assault causing bodily harm, overcoming resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person, and unlawfully being in a dwelling house.
