Hundreds of people put their feet in pedals to help raise money for pediatric cancer.

Dozens of stationary bikes were set up inside the MTS Centre Tuesday evening for Winnipeg's turn at The Inside Ride.

Canada’s first indoor cycling challenge, The Inside Ride is a fundraising event currently on a national tour dedicated to raising money in support of children with cancer and their families.

In the past two years, the local effort for the event has raised more than $375,000 for the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation; all of which stays in the province to help fund clinical research, medical trials and other needed supports for pediatric cancer patients.

Around 70 teams of six riders took part in Tuesday's ride, helped only by uplifting music and the cheers of teammates, friends and spectators.

Prizes were awarded for outstanding team fundraising, spirit, mileage and creative costumes.

Teams were made up from a diverse group of people including young cancer survivors, doctors and nurses, corporations, and friends from all walks of life.
