Winnipeg police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a 27-year-old man on the weekend.

Geoffrey Olive Reid was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 400 block of Pacific Avenue on Saturday. He later died in hospital from his injuries.

Police believe Reid was shot at a home on Alexander Street. Reid and another individual got into a fight, during which the suspect pulled out a gun, police said.

A single shot was fired, hitting Reid, who fled the residence.

Police arrested 21-year-old Tristan Steward Bradburn on Wednesday and charged him with second-degree murder and failing to comply with a probation order. Bradburn is being held in the Remand Centre.
