The Manitoba government issued high wind warnings for the long weekend for the south basins of Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba.
“North winds are forecast to range up to 50 km/h starting Sunday evening and continuing until Monday. Wind speed and significant wave action could raise levels by as much as three to five feet or more,” said the province in a statement Friday afternoon.
The Manitoba government advised property owners to take precautions.
