The leader of Manitoba's Liberal party is staying on in her role, despite not winning her seat in the provincial election.

Speaking to reporters after the results became clear, Rana Bokhari said her future at the helm of the party is a conversation for another day.

The Liberals are in line to win just a handful of seats in Manitoba's legislature, but will fall short of the four needed for official party status.

The Progressive Conservatives cruised to a majority over the New Democrats, who have led the province for nearly 17 years.
