A new selfie photo booth in downtown Winnipeg is encouraging men and women to love their bodies, no matter what shape or size.

Artist Kal Barteski created the HEART every BODY project with the Women's Health Clinic. It's located at 419 Graham Ave, right beside the clinic.

People are encouraged to show up to the booth, look at a mirror and take a selfie. Participants then post their picture along with one or more things they like about their body with the hastag #hearteverybody.

The creators of the project say it’s meant to empower people about how they see themselves.

The project will stay up for three months.

Barteski spoke out in support of an Edmonton mother who posted pictures of herself in a bikini on social media. The mother of five said she was recently mocked on a beach because of stretch marks across her stomach.

"We need to support each other," said Barteski. "I think she did a great thing.and we should all go to the beach in our bikinis."
