Winnipeg police are warning the public after a trio of recent assaults in Winnipeg.

Officers said all three incidents were unprovoked, and the victims were not seriously injured.

“We’re talking about punches, no weapons involved. Injuries that have been reported are non-life threatening,” Const. Jason Michalyshen said.

The assaults happened in less than an hour Tuesday morning on Osborne Street near Stradbrook Avenue, on Broadway at Edmonton Street and on Carlton Street at York Avenue.

“We’re looking at the possibility that one male suspect is involved in all three [assaults] and there could be others,” Michalyshen said.

The suspect is described as a man with long blonde hair who is about six feet (182 centimetres) tall. He is possibly wearing a dark coloured jacket with reflective stripes.

Police don't know what motivated the suspect to assault the women.

"They were minding their own business. They were going about their business when this individual made contact with them,” Michalyshen added.

Winnipeg Police say none of the women were sexually assaulted or robbed.

Police say they're investigating a fourth incident in the downtown area that could possibly be connected to the same suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6668.

Police are also reminding the public to be mindful of their personal safety.
