Military personnel from 17 Wing Winnipeg will head to the Middle East Wednesday.
The Canadians Armed Forces members will fly to Kuwait in support of Operation IMPACT. They are joining the coalition in Iraq battling against Islamic extremists.
Six CF-18 fighter Jets left CFB Cold Lake Tuesday as part of Canada’s contribution to the operation.
Along with the fighter jets, about 600 military personnel, two surveillance planes and an aerial tanker will be involved in the six-month mission.
