The public is invited to honour the lives of Tina Fontaine and Faron Hall with a walk and vigil Tuesday night, starting at 7:00 p.m., Aug. 19.

Both Fontaine and Hall’s bodies were pulled from the Red River Sunday.

Fontaine was a 15-year-old Sagkeeng girl and was reported missing on August 9. At the time she disappeared, Fontaine was in the care of Child and Family Services.

Hall was known as the "homeless hero" for rescuing two people from the Red River in 2009.

The event will start with a moment of silence at the Alexander Docks. Then, the walk begin from there to the recently installed monument for murdered and missing aboriginal women at The Forks.

Following the walk, a vigil will be held at the Oodena Circle.
