Police said a Gallagher Avenue stabbing that sent a victim to hospital in critical condition has led to a series of charges against a suspect.

Officers and emergency crews responded shortly before 4:45 a.m. on Feb. 18 to the 2100 block of Gallagher Avenue for a report of a fight.

Two men got into an argument over alcohol and one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim, “causing a serious life-threatening injury,” said police.

The victim managed to flee to a lower level of the home, where a family member helped him, before emergency crews arrived and took him to hospital in critical condition.

Members of the homicide unit were called and continue to investigate.
