An early-morning break-in led to confrontation between a suspect and police officer and ended with the officer’s gun being fired, according to police.

Around 2:30 a.m. Monday officers went to the 400 block of Pandora Avenue after getting a call about a commercial break and enter.

Several cruisers and the canine unit were called to the scene and a suspect was eventually tracked down a few blocks away in the 800 block of Kernaghan Avenue.

That’s when police said a confrontation between the officer and the suspect broke out and the officer shot his gun.

No one was injured in the confrontation, and the suspect is now in police custody.

Police said Michael Wayne Grozelle, 49, faces multiple charges, including for break and enter and for breach of probation.
