The opposition Tories, want the premier to reveal how much it's going to cost to pay out staff members who have quit after the NDP leadership race.

“These cheques for the severance, sometimes supersize severance, aren't being paid for by Greg Selinger. And it's not being paid for by the NDP party. It's being paid for by Manitobans," said Steinbach MLA, Kelvin Goertzen.

Goertzen says he expects between 5 and ten NDP staffers to leave at a cost of up to $1 million dollars.

He says Manitobans are on the hook, because premier Selinger broke his promise to allow staff to campaign for any candidate without losing their jobs.

Selinger says no one has been forced out.
