Zoo visitors can now see an orphaned cougar cub from Alberta at Winnipeg’s zoo.

The four-month-old cub was transferred to the Assiniboine Park Zoo in early December from the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

Assiniboine Park Zoo officials said she’s housed in a temporary exhibit space at the north end of the zoo, next to the snow leopard enclosure.

Officials said the cub will be on display temporarily, as they’re looking for a home for her at another facility so the animal can participate in a “Species Survival Program.”

The Assiniboine Park Zoo has also started a poll to select a name for the cub.

The poll is now open on its Facebook page and suggestions can be submitted until Jan. 25 at 11 p.m.

After that, voting will open on Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. and will close on Jan. 29 at 11 p.m.
