Overnight fire guts home in city's northwest

Fire gutted a row house at 1606 Burrows Ave. last night.

Crews arrived just before 10 p.m. to find a fire in the home in the Gilbert Park housing co-op.

The unit is badly damaged, but fire crews kept it from spreading to neighbouring homes.

One firefighter suffered minor burns, no one else was injured.

The cause is under investigation.
