Premier Brian Pallister appointed six legislative assistants Wednesday to work with Manitoba’s newly unveiled roster of cabinet ministers.

Seine River MLA Janice Morley-Lecomte will be legislative assistant to Families Minister Scott Fielding.

Kelly Bindle, Thompson MLA, will work with Growth, Enterprise, and Trade Minister Cliff Cullen. Andrew Micklefield will assist Kelvin Goertzen, health, seniors and activing living minister.

Infrastructure Minister Blaine Pedersen will be backed by Interlake MLA Derek Johnson.

Fort Richmond MLA Sarah Guillemard will work with Rochelle Squires, sports, culture, and heritage minister.

Swan River MLA Richard Wowchuk rounds out the group as assistant to Minister of Sustainable Development Cathy Cox.

“These six members of the legislative assembly will offer important counsel and support to our team’s new cabinet ministers,” said Pallister.

“Their experience will inform many of the decisions made by our government and I am joined by all members of cabinet in thanking them for their commitment to our province.”

The remaining members of caucus will take their oath May 11.

Pallister said the new government’s first throne speech will be delivered on May 16.
