It appears the Manitoba liberal party is split when it comes to handing out Christmas cards.

Leader Rana Bokhari sent out a holiday card with a picture of herself electronically.

She then tweeted that traditional paper cards are costly and not environmentally friendly.

“(Manitobans) fund up to $340K for MLA holiday cards every (year). A digital cards saves both taxpayer $ & the environment," Tweeted Bokhari.

Liberal MLA Jon Gerrard didn’t get the Tweet in time. The only elected member in the party had already sent out a paper card with a picture of himself rock climbing in Banff.

Bokhari says she’s not being critical of MLAs or Gerrard who mail out traditional cards; she says she’s just expressing her preference.
