A man was shot after answering the door of his house in an incident on Pinetree Crescent on Thursday, Winnipeg police said. Police are still looking for a suspect.

The 22-year-old victim was found with gunshot wounds to his upper body and taken to hospital in unstable condition. He is now listed as stable.

The suspect fled the area after the shooting, police said. Police told CTV News that the incident "appears targeted".

Police describe the suspect as a black male, between 30 and 40 years old, five feet, 11 inches (180 centimetres) tall.
