An altercation between two males turned violent at the Forks’ Canada Day celebrations.

Around 8:30 p.m. on July 1, Winnipeg police responded to the area of Forks Market Road regarding a stabbing incident.

Police said a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy became involved in an argument at which time one of them pulled out a knife. The 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the upper body, while the suspect attempted to flee the scene.

Police said the two men did not know one another.

Tyler Roussin of Winnipeg has been charged with possession and assault with a weapon.
