Winnipeg police have released the name of a woman found dead inside a Pritchard Avenue home on Monday.

Marilyn Rose Munroe, 41, was discovered by officers after police received a check well-being call around 10:40 a.m. on Feb. 22.

Several police vehicles, along with fire and ambulance, attended the scene after reports suggested a person might be injured in the 200 block of Pritchard Avenue.

Members of the forensic unit entered the home at 298 Pritchard Ave. around 12:20 p.m. and were seen removing what appeared to be a body.

One neighbour told CTV News the house had been boarded up for two weeks.

Police have not confirmed the circumstances of Munroe’s death. The results of an autopsy are pending.

The Winnipeg police homicide unit is investigating.

Police ask anyone who may have had contact with Munroe over the past several weeks, or any additional information, to contact investigators at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
