RCMP have arrested a second suspect following a Portage la Prairie home invasion.

Police responded to a call on Aug. 12, around 10:30 p.m.

A homeowner had opened the front door after hearing a knock.

Two males forced their way inside and demanded money, said RCMP.

A fight broke out and the two suspects were able to leave with some items from the home, said RCMP.

The 34-year-old homeowner was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He was treated and released.

Police identified the suspects as Leslie James Sullivan, 29, of Portage la Prairie and Shane Rene Richard, 28, of Long Plain First Nation.

Warrants were issued for both men and Sullivan was arrested on Aug. 12 in Winnipeg.

RCMP said Richard was located and arrested on Aug. 22.

Police thanked the public for help finding him.
