Police are asking for the public's help in finding the person responsible for the stabbing of a 31-year-old man in the West End early Thursday morning.

The man was leaving a business after buying alcohol when a stranger approached him. The suspect then stabbed and robbed him, police said. 

Around 2:20 a.m. police found a man stabbed in the stomach at a gas station in the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue.

The man was rushed to hospital and is now in stable condition, said police.

Police are now looking for a suspect described as a clean-shaven man who is aboriginal in appearance with medium-length dark hair. The suspect is about six-feet tall (182 cm) and 175 lbs (79 kg).
