A letter was sent to parents with children at Linden Meadows School Thursday morning, regarding a safety incident that occurred near the school. Other parents of children in schools nearby, also got letters.
In the letter, it states that a student was walking to school along Farmingdale Boulevard. on Wednesday morning, around 8:50 a.m.
A car followed her and honked the horn to get her attention. A woman in a black four-door sedan told her to get in the car so she could give her a lift to school.
In the letter, the woman is described as being in her forties with curly dark hair and a dark complexion. The student did not comply and ran to school.
The letter also states that the parents of the student have filed a police report and contacted the school resource officer.
