RCMP have released the identity of the man whose remains were found north of Selkirk Saturday.

RCMP said the remains are that of Corey Donald Williams, a 25-year-old man from Hollow Water.

Williams was reported missing on January 12, RCMP said.

After an autopsy had been completed RCMP concluded his death appeared to be suspicious.

Officers initially began investigating the find when they got a call at 6:30 p.m. July 21. They taped off a wooded area on Highway 4, just north of Selkirk.

The major crimes unit and the forensic identification unit were called in to investigate the find.

RCMP said they are continuing to investigate the man’s death.
