PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, Man. - Manitoba Mounties have made an arrest in a sex assault more than a year after the attack.

RCMP in Portage la Prairie say a 30-year-old woman reported to police in September 2013 that she had been sexually assaulted by a man who broke into her house.

Justin Levasseur, who is 24, was arrested last Thursday and faces charges that include sexual assault and sexual assault with a weapon.

Police say he attempt to flee following a court appearance and now faces additional charges that include escaping custody and resisting a police officer.
