A woman died after a car hit her as she was walking down the highway on Long Plain First Nation on Saturday.
The 31-year-old woman from Portage la Prairie was walking north on Highway 305 around 8:30 p.m. when the car hit her.
Emergency crews pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police say they don’t consider alcohol a factor in the collision.
The woman’s name will not be released.
