Powerview RCMP say they have investigated the death of a four-month-old baby girl from the Black River First Nation.

Police said an emergency call came in around 6:30 p.m. Monday because the girl was unresponsive.

RCMP said the child was taken to Selkirk General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

According to RCMP, the investigation began under the Fatality Inquiry Act but police are not treating the death as suspicious and RCMP involvement has ended.

Police did not release the name of the infant.
