A veteran RCMP officer is facing charges of sexual assault and sexual interference.
Brandon police were asked to investigate after a 9-year-old from the Ashern area claimed to be sexually assaulted.
On Sunday police arrested a 55-year-old man from the Arborg area.
The suspect, who has served with the RCMP for 26-years, was not on duty at the time of the offence.
The accused is scheduled to appear in an Ashern court on November 19.
