The Winnipeg woman who gained attention for her salty-worded poster demanding her stolen bike back, has hatched a plan to help others in the same situation.

Sarah Arksey told CTV News that although no one has returned her 15-year-old bike to her, she has received an outpouring of support.

“I have had literally 40 people offer to buy me one or donate their old one, as well as many people who have had theirs stolen calling me to empathize,” she said.

Now, Arksey has started a co-op to connect people with bikes to spare with those who have had theirs stolen.

The Wolseley Bike Co-op will provide donors with a place to drop off their bikes.

People who have had their bikes stolen can bring a police report about the theft to the co-op and receive one of their donated bikes.

Arksey received widespread media attention for an angry yet humourous poster asking why anyone would want to steal her broken-down bike and demanding its return.
