A 57-year-old man has been charged with second degree murder after a man was found covered in blood in a downtown Winnipeg hotel lobby.

Police were called Sunday at around 10:30 p.m. to the Manwin Hotel in the 600 block of Main Street.

Police found a man in the lobby covered in blood and not breathing.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead.

Officers identified the victim as John Blaine Flett, 50, from Winnipeg.

Police said they believe the victim was in a dispute when he was stabbed in the upper-body.

Investigators arrested Eric John Guimond, 57, from Winnipeg on Tuesday. He was charged with second degree murder.
