Police said a suspect now faces a murder charge after a victim rushed to hospital in critical condition later died from injuries.
Emergency crews and officers responded to the 100 block of Mayfair Avenue in Winnipeg on Nov. 21.
Stacy Ralph Barkman, 39, was rushed to hospital but died from injuries, said police.
An investigation showed several people had been socializing in a suite when a fight broke out between the suspect and victim. The two did not know each other.
The victim was assaulted in the upper body, said police.
The suspect fled the scene.
Patrick Jeremy Hill, 25, of God’s Lake First Nation was originally charged with aggravated assault and now also faces a second-degree murder charge, said police.
