A 29-year-old man from Ontario was sent to a Winnipeg hospital after a serious, single-vehicle collision on Sunday.

Around 3:15 p.m., Steinbach RCMP responded to the collision on the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately two and a half kilometres west of Highway 12.

RCMP said a westbound vehicle rolled and landed in the north ditch. The 29-year-old man was the lone occupant of the car. He was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision, said police. The man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

RCMP said traffic will be delayed in the area until about 8 p.m., Sunday.

The investigation is ongoing.
