Your Skywatch Weather Forecast
After another night of record breaking overnight lows in several regions last night from Thompson to Melita, high pressure sticks around on Thursday keeping skies sunny across Manitoba. We should see daytime highs here in the southeast in the 3-5C range and a little bit cooler in the southwest, hovering right around the freezing mark in Brandon. Most of northern Manitoba should see daytime highs climb just up above freezing, too. By tonight, you’ll see some clouds in the southwest, while the southeast and the north will stay clear. Clouds will build over the course of the day on Good Friday across the south. A low pressure system headed our way from the west will bring rain and snow. At this point, the dividing line between the two will bring rain to Brandon and Winnipeg and rain/snow mix or snow to Dauphin and Neepawa. Neepawa could get 10-20 cm of snow, falling heavily at times. The rain should get to Winnipeg by tomorrow evening. We’re looking at 5 mm Friday night with strong winds. Then periods of rain will continue on Saturday followed by sunshine Easter Sunday and more rain Easter Monday. But temperatures should return to the double digits throughout the long weekend.
