August long weekend promises to be warm, but parts of Manitoba face a risk of showers and thunderstorms on some or all of the days.
There’s a chance of showers and a risk of thundershowers in the afternoon on Saturday across most of the province, with the exception of the far north.
In parts of western Manitoba, especially the southwest, the risk of showers or thunderstorms extends over the whole weekend and into Monday.
Winnipeg got off to a sunny start Saturday, but there’s a 30 per cent chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Looking ahead at the rest of the week in Winnipeg, conditions look warm and sunny for the most part, with only a chance of showers on Wednesday breaking up the sunshine.
The week looks less sunny in areas around Brandon and Dauphin, where only a few days are expected to be completely clear of rain.
In central Manitoba, the rain doesn’t show any sign of stopping for most of the coming week around Norway House and The Pas. The same can be said of the north, where Thompson, Gillam, Lynn Lake and Churchill can all expect another week of steady rain as well.
