Starting next week, speed limits in Winnipeg school zones will be reduced.
Earlier this year in June, the Standing Policy Committee on Infrastructure Renewal and Public Works voted to lower speed limits around elementary schools.
The changes will come into effect Sept. 1, 2014.
Signs will be posted around 171 Winnipeg elementary schools to remind drivers of the changes.
Police will be monitoring the new school zones with both traditional and photo enforcement.
