Parts of southeast Manitoba including Winnipeg could see some periods of snow on Saturday.

About 2 centimetres is expected to fall by midnight. The temperature will hang just below freezing around -1 Celsius.

The wind will pick up to around 30 kilometres an hour and then die down around midnight.

The mild temperatures will hang around for the early part of the week, but they’ll start to sink into the minus teens later in the week. Normals for this time of year are around -7 C.

Parts of southwest Manitoba around Brandon will avoid the snow, but central and northern regions of the province can expect to see some white stuff.

Northern Manitoba is headed into a period of unseasonable warmth. Churchill will see an extended period of daytime highs in the single digits, well above the seasonal normal of -16 C.

Again, the warm stretch will last until about Thursday, then drop back closer to seasonal normal.
