The St. Norbert Farmers’ Market opens Saturday in yet another telling sign that the warm season has arrived.

Fans of local food can get their farm fresh produce, meats, eggs and baked products, as well as handmade crafts by local artisans.

Once again, the sound of bows on strings will kick off the opening of the market, as a fiddle jam takes place at noon on Saturday. Local politicians, including MP Terry Duguid, MLA Jon Reyes and Coun. Janice Lukes were expected to cut the fiddle cake to mark the official opening.

The market has a series of home skills workshops planned for Aug. 10, teaching how to ferment, pickle, use herbs, sharpen knives and more.

A feast featuring all locally grown products on Sept. 8 will give foodies the chance to meet the farmers who grew the food.
