A stretch of Main Street was shut down to traffic for most of Monday afternoon.

Police taped off southbound Main Street between Flora and Dufferin Avenues, as well as the northbound lanes between Flora and Euclid Avenues.

Police, firefighters and paramedics responded to the report of a suspicious package.

Winnipeg's bomb squad arrived on scene before 6:00 p.m. it found the report to be unfounded.

Main Street repoened shortly after.
