Suspect charged for attack that sent man to hospital in critical condition

Winnipeg police have arrested a suspect and charged him for an assault that sent a man to hospital in critical condition last week.
Police said they were called to a home in the 500 block of College Avenue at around 10:15 a.m. Jan. 19 where they found a 25-year-old man with serious upper body injuries.
He was rushed him to hospital in critical condition. Police said he remains in hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police said several people were at the home for a drinking party. Once the occupants of the home, including the victim, had gone to sleep, the victim was assaulted for an unknown reason, said officers.
Shawn Patrick McDougall, 20, has been charged with aggravated assault.
