Police have arrested a suspect in a series of sexual assaults going back more than four years.

A man has been charged in connection with sexual assaults on three women between 2010 and 2013.

In the first assault in January of 2014, a 29-year-old woman got into a vehicle in the area of Ellice Avenue and Victor Street. She was driven to the area of Huntleigh Street and Portage Avenue, sexually assaulted, and threatened, police said.

The victim managed to escape by honking the horn of the vehicle and fleeing, police said.

In the second assault, on Jan. 24, 2010, a 41-year-old woman got into a vehicle near Sargent Avenue and Home Street and was driven to Myrtle Street where she was sexually assaulted and threatened, police said.

On April 1, 2013, a 20-year-old woman near Flora Avenue and King Street got into a vehicle, and was sexually assaulted for four hours. The victim tried to use pepper spray to stop the assault, but it was taken from her and used against her.

On Sept. 18, 2014, police arrested Douglas Bowman, 50, and charged him with three counts of sexual assault and uttering threats.
