Teddy bears took over Assiniboine Park on Sunday at the 30th annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic.

Tens of thousands of kids and parents picnicked in the park with their favourite stuffed animals.

Kids brought their stuffed animals down to get their wounds patched up at the Dr. Goodbear Clinic, where staff stitched up holes.

There was also music, face painting and a magic show.

Money raised goes toward the Children's Hospital Foundation.

"The whole purpose is to help educate kids and their families as to what it's like to be in a hospital and be around a doctor and a nurse,” said President Lawrence Prout.

Their teddy bear may have a broken leg and they may get casting. Their teddy bear goes to the washroom and someone says would you like to see a urine sample? … So if f they happen to come to the hospital, at least they're much more comfortable and knowledgeable as to what's going to happen."

Sunday marked the 30th anniversary of the Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
