The pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Regent Avenue and Lagimodiere Boulevard on Tuesday died from his injuries, police said Wednesday.
A family member told CTV the victim is Tim Thomas.
Emergency crews found a 17-year-old male seriously injured shortly after 12 a.m. on Tuesday. An earlier report incorrectly stated he was an adult.
Paramedics took him to hospital in critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries.
CAA spokesperson, Angele Faucher, says a CAA tow truck driver and member witnessed the accident. She says they described the scene as horrific and called 911 immediately.
Faucher says the police asked the CAA vehicle to stay on the scene to help increase visibility. She says CAA was not directly involved in the accident.
