Three people are dead following a two vehicle crash early Saturday morning in the RM of Oakland, says RCMP.

Emergency responders were called to the crash site on Highway 10, one kilometer south of Highway 2, just after 3:00 a.m.

Investigators are working to piece together how the crash happened. At this point, officers have established that a 1999 Honda Civic and a 1988 Chevrolet Corsica collided head-on.

The two victims in the Corsica were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police will not be releasing names but say the men are from Brandon, ages believed to be 18 and 19.

The lone driver of the Civic was also pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified tentatively as a 26-year-old man from Winnipeg. His name will not be released.

Police say alcohol has not been ruled out as a contributing factor.

The investigation continues.
