What’s now just a molehill of toys will soon be a mountain, and all for children in need.

The Forks Market began building its Tower of Toys Monday. The annual drive sees The Forks and the Christmas Cheer Board team up to gather toys for Winnipeg’s less fortunate children.

In 2011, more than 750 unwrapped toys worth more than $15,000 were stacked up in the tower.

Each year, the drive hopes to make the tower taller than the previous year.

The Tower of Toys drive is now in its twelfth year.
