Emergency crews responded the scene of a train derailment south of St. Norbert Sunday afternoon.

The CN Rail train went off the tracks around 12:55 p.m. on Sunday. At least seven rail cars derailed on the southbound train.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were on the scene Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson for CN said the train wasn’t carrying any dangerous goods. The cars contained plastic pellets, pipes and wood products like paneling.

No one was injured. Police say the area is not heavily populated.

The train was en route to the United States, the spokesperson said.

The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.
